Overview
The new Daikin McQuay Rebel commercial packaged rooftop system offers building owners unprecedented energy savings using quality manufactured McQuay equipment incorporated with advanced, industry-leading technologies that include VAV operation from 3-15 tons, variable speed Daikin heat pump with hybrid (gas, electric, hot water) heat options, Variable speed ECM motors on all fans, ultra-quiet composite Daikin condenser fans, energy recovery wheel, and a variable speed Daikin inverter scroll compressor that minimizes on/off cycling.

Rebel’s innovative design creates air conditioning part-load energy efficiencies (as high as 20.6 IEER) that overwhelmingly surpass ASHRAE’s 90.1 performance standard by a staggering 84%.

Rebel also offers great energy savings in the heating mode with COP’s at 47°F that are as high as 3.8. And during winter months, Rebel’s heat pump provides significantly lower operating costs than any type of alternative mechanical heat, including traditional gas furnaces.

The Department of Energy Announces Rebel as the First Unit to Exceed its High-Efficiency Commercial Rooftop Air Conditioner Challenge
The Daikin McQuay Rebel system is the first rooftop unit to exceed the DOE’s voluntary challenge which seeks manufacturers to develop a new generation of high-efficiency, cost-effective air conditioners for commercial buildings that meet or exceed a partload efficiency standard of 18 IEER. The challenge aims to reduce energy use by as much as 50 to 60 percent over current equipment and is part of the DOE’s broad efforts to partner with industries in support of innovative building technologies that will reduce energy use, save money, and increase American competitiveness.

 

The Daikin McQuay Rebel system proudly leads that challenge with IEERs of up to 20.6. Rebel is indisputably the most energy efficient packaged rooftop system on the market and can be configured as a 100% dedicated outdoor air system, variable air volume (VAV), Single-Zone VAV, or constant air volume (CAV) system that provides better comfort control, unmatched energy savings, and superior part-load efficiencies in low rise building applications
